Will OPPO beat Xiaomi in the battle for who takes over the Nigerian smart device market place? Let’s find out.
Today, the 24th of April 2019, Xiaomi will be having its first official product launch in Lagos state Nigeria, and thousands of MI fans are super excited about this. Although there are speculations about the products that will be launched by this Chinese tech giant, we remain unsure of what exactly they have up their sleeves.
While Xiaomi has slowly penetrated the Nigerian market through sales agents, it has not escaped competition as a rival brand in China and India – OPPO is also making its way into the Nigerian market place and putting up an intense fight to gain loyal customers.
OPPO is set to unveil one of the excellent quality smartphone devices on the 26th of April 2019, precisely two days after Xiaomi’s product lunch on the 24th. The competition for the Nigerian market place by Chinese companies did not start in 2019 as products like Techno Mobile, Infinix, Gionee, and many others have been in the struggle for years. While companies like Gieonee could not keep up, others thrived.
While this would be OPPO’s first official product launch in the West African country, gadget lovers fear that the company might not do better than Xiaomi because of Xiaomi’s sales strategy of collaborating with big online stores in the country, and their aggressive publicity.
The Chinese smartphone maker has revealed that it will be launching the OPPO F11 PRO during its April 26th product launch in the commercial city of Lagos. The said device was first launched in India and was marketed at 24,990 Rupees which is almost $358. The OPPO F11 device is a classy one with an appealing gradient coloured back that reminds phone lovers of the Find X from last year.
What is unique about this device? The OPPO F11 smartphone stands off with its elevating pop-up selfie camera that comes out somewhere around the middle of the device which is a lot different from the pop-up style of other OPPO smart devices. If you have seen the recent OPPO Reno with Shark Fin, then you already know this company has a lot to offer in terms of style.
The OPPO F11 Pro features a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ notchless display screen on the front part with its glorious 16MP selfie camera that pops up right from the top. The device is powered by Helio P70 SoC together with 64GB of storage and 6GB RAM.
OPPO F11 is designed to stay on for longer as it boasts of a 4,000 mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging. This device boots Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 while it features a twin camera at the back that is of 48 MP and 5 MP units respectively.
We currently have no idea how much this device will cost in Naira, but what we know is that local price will be announced at the lunching and information on availability will also be made known.
Nevertheless, OPPO is sure to provide quality devices at an affordable price if they must survive the Nigerian market with the presence of Xiaomi. Leave a comment to let us know what you think.
